The League of Women Voters are partners in this year’s Women’s March, which will take place in Washington D.C. As in the past two years, there will be sister marches in cities around the nation, including OKC. Find directions and a route map on the Facebook Event Page, and let the organizers know you are coming.

This year’s march will be lead by Indigenous Women!

A featured speaker will be Olivia Gray, Director of the Family Violence Prevention Department. She is an outspoken advocate on issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, human sex trafficking, Indian Child Welfare, and women’s rights.

LWVUS encourages members to join the Oklahoma Women’s March and display our League membership proudly. In addition to signs and badges, we are also encouraged to wear red scarves, as s or shawls, as Susan B. Anthony famously wore a red shawl while advocating for women’s rights. The shawl is now on display in the Smithsonian.
